Scott Matheson

Doctor Matheson grew up in Woods Cross, Utah and attended the University of Utah where he graduated with a degree in Biology in 1983. He graduated from Colorado State University in 1987.

From 1987 until 1996 he was in General Practice in West Valley. He was the Medical Director in the practice from 1990-1996. Starting in 1996 Doctor Matheson practiced Emergency Medicine in Salt Lake City, until opening PETCARE Animal Hospital in early 2008.

Doctor Matheson became the first veterinarian in Utah in 1996 to be Board-Certified in Canine and Feline Practice by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (most veterinarians do not yet pursue the additional qualifications required for board certification).

Doctor Matheson has wide-ranging interests in veterinary medicine, including Internal Medicine, Critical Care and Emergency Medicine, Dentistry and General and Orthopedic surgery. Doctor Matheson no longer sees any types of pocket pets or exotics (only sees dogs and cats).

Doctor Matheson is married with two daughters and two grandsons. He has two cats and two Golden Retrievers. His hobbies include woodworking, discovering new music on YouTube (and showing the staff) camping, computer programming and listening to music.
