Checking in:

  • Clients should not wait in the lobby.
  • It is preferable to either call or text us (801-302-9061) when you arrive or send one person into the hospital to check-in while everyone else waits in their car or outside the building. When your appointment is ready we can call or text you to enter the building.
  • If anyone has a cough, fever, or other COVID-like symptoms, please let us know. You will need to stay in your car. If you can have someone else bring your pet to their appointment that would be preferable. We can arrange for a nurse to come collect your pet. You may either wait for us to finish or drop the pet off at that time (we’ll call or text when finished).

Social Distancing:

  • Clients and staff should try to maintain a six-foot distance from each other when possible.
  • Avoid shaking hands.
  • Please feel free to wash your hands when you enter or leave an examination room.
  • Please put your pet on the examination table if we ask you to.
  • Please clean your carrier, leash and collar as carefully as possible before arrival with an alcohol-based solution. Viruses can be transmitted on surfaces such as these.
  • Per our policies only ONE client can be in the examination room at a time unless extenuating circumstances are present.
  • Per our policies, clients MUST wear a mask or face covering while in the building (except people with known exemptions).

Picking up medications or food:

  • If you are picking up medications or food you can call us and arrange pre-payment. Then when you arrive, text us at 801-302-9061 and we will be able to bring your supplies to your car.
  • You can pay over the phone with most credit cards.
  • We have a Venmo account that you can use to prepay invoices. You can find us on Venmo at @PETCARE-AnimalHospital-UTAH

Visits / Boarding / Tours:

  • We will not allow clients to visit hospitalized pets at this time. Clients will not be allowed into back areas of the hospital.
  • We will not conduct tours of the hospital at this time.
  • No items such as carriers, leashes, blankets, or toys may be left with your pet if they are staying in the hospital (boarding, hospitalized)

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I delay vaccinations for my pet until the virus pandemic subsides?

  • If you have an adult animal that DOES need a Rabies vaccination it does need to be completed on time.
  • If you have a fully-vaccinated adult pet that does NOT need a Rabies vaccination, then you could delay vaccinations for up to 3 months.
  • Heartworm medications such as ProHeart-6 and ProHeart-12 need to be completed on schedule.
  • Puppies and kittens do not have much immunity to potentially fatal diseases. They should finish their vaccination series on schedule.

Is my dog or cat at risk from COVID-19? Can I catch the virus from a pet?

At this time there is no evidence of pet risk. Viruses can sit on surfaces and transmit from human to human. For this reason pets should have frequent baths and any leashes/toys etc should be kept clean.

What Our Clients Are Saying

I would definitely recommend Petcare Animal Hospital. They were the only clinic that could get me in that day and I’m so thankful. My dog is feeling much better now. They weren’t trying to push anything on me (like surgery) the way other vets seem to. I’m very happy I found this place!
